The Airport Authority of India or private operators manages most of the airports in India.

The maintenance including upgradation of facilities of navigational aids, extension of runways, expansion of terminal buildings, etc. is under the jurisdiction of the Airport Authority of India / Private Operator.

AIR INDIA (IC) pays various charges like Landing, Parking, Route Navigation Fee etc. to the airport controlling agencies for using the airport.

Airport constraints such as runway length and gradient, obstacles in the airport vicinity and high temperature affect aircraft performance and restrict our payloads. Sometimes, we may even have to refuse passenger reservations inspite of the fact that many seats are vacant.

Provision and maintenance of all facilities at airports, be it the check-in areas, toilets, telephone booths, banking, post office counters, etc. are controlled by the airport controlling agencies and we have no direct control over the upkeep and upgradation of these facilities. Passengers suggestions can and are taken up by us with the Airports controlling agency vis-a-vis upgradation of facilities.

Some unauthorized persons may try to help you with your reservations, hotel bookings, currency change, car rental etc. You are requested not to deal with any unauthorized person/ agent but seek the assistance of AIR INDIA (IC), Airport Authority, Tourist office, etc.
