October 15-18 Air India plays a pivotal role in the staging of India's first ever Civil Aviation exposition, India Aviation 2008, at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad. Air India showcased its Boeing 777-300 ER and Airbus A 319 at the event.
October 15 Air India received its 7th Airbus A319 aircraft during the India Aviation 2008 at Hyderabad. The aircraft flew in straight from Hamburg.
October 16 About 500 copies of Viridh Shri Guru Granth Sahibji were flown in from London to Delhi by AI 112.Utmost care was taken care of the Holy Scriptures. Thirty-two sewadars also flew in on the flight.
October 16 Air India signs MRO deal with EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company) for creation of a maintenance, repair and overhaul centre for Airbus aircraft to be based at Delhi.
November 12 Air India introduces the Aurangabad-Jeddah Haj flight. This was also the first flight to take off from the new terminal building at Aurangabad airport, inaugurated, earlier, the same day.
December 10 Air India won the Galileo Express TravelWorld Award 2008, for the Best Short- Haul International Airline from India.
