Companion Free scheme for Full fare Executive/ Economy Class Passengers
 

It has been decided to allow Full Executive /Economy Class Fare Paying Passenger to take accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent Free of Cost in the same class and flight while traveling on domestic sectors of Air India (AI/IC).

The details are as under: -

Executive Class:
  • Application: All types of journeys in Executive Class on all Domestic Sectors
  • Period of Application:  Sale and travel up to 31st March 2010.
  • Fares:  Full Executive Class fare to be collected from one passenger. Accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent: No Basic Fare / Fuel Surcharge to be collected. However applicable PSF/UDF would be required to be paid.
    Tickets issued under the scheme would not be combined with any other fare types.
  • Sales and Advertising:  in India and Abroad.
  • Cancellation/Refund: Refund Administration Fee of Rs.100 would be applicable on the full fare ticket while the Spouse/Child/Parent ticket would attract no RAF at the time of refund. Both Full fare ticket and the accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent ticket to be cancelled together.
  • Re-booking:-  Change of reservation upto1hour prior to departure would attract no cancellation charge. Booking cancelled within 1hour of departure would be treated as no-show. 100% cancellation charges would be levied on the paid ticket. Both Full fare ticket and the accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent ticket to be re-booked together.
  • Re-Routing:- Permitted provided both the Full fare paying passenger and the accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent tickets are presented together for similar re-routing.
  • Discounts:-  No discounts permitted .
  • Ticketing:-  Tickets to be purchased together. Cross reference of the Companion ticket would be made on the full fare ticket and v.v. with the remark "Accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent” on both the full fare as well as on free ticket. Tickets will be marked non-endorsable and valid on Air India only. Both the bookings to be made in the same PNR. A Signed Declaration from the passenger indicating Name of Spouse/Child/Parent will suffice for ticketing purpose and this record must be kept by all concerned offices.
  • Accompanied Travel:- Fare paying passenger and accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent must travel together on the entire journey .
  • Eligibility:-  Only Spouse/Child/Parent permitted.
  • Reservation:-  Only confirmed Booking Permitted (Waitlist /Time limit not permitted).
  • Fare Basis:-   Booking in "J-Class" for both the passengers.
  • Ticketing Code:-   J1 for full fare paying passenger traveling with Spouse J1-AS00 for accompanying Spouse/Child/Parent
 
Economy Class:
  • Application: All types of journeys in Economy Class on all Domestic Sectors.
  • Period of Application:  Travel within Three Months. Sale and travel up to 31st Dec. 2009.
  • Fares:  Full Fare Economy Class fare to be collected from one passenger.
  • Accompanying Spouse/child/parents:  No Basic Fare / Fuel Surcharge to be collected. However applicable PSF/UDF would be required to be paid by the Passenger.Tickets issued under the scheme would not be combined with any other fare types

  • Fare Basis:-   Full fare Economy Class ticket in “W-Class”& Accompanying ticket in “G-Class”
